About this costume
Blue dress made of shiny fabric with golden bamboo motifs. The design is fitted and straight-cut, with a knee-length hem. A high collar and decorative fastening at the neck are characteristic of the traditional Chinese qipao dress. The qipao became popular in Shanghai during the third–fourth decades of the twentieth century and became a symbol of the modern urban woman.
